Koch Names 2010 Scholarship Winners
The selection committee, consisting of the President of UE, President of USI, the Bishop of Evansville and the Evansville Vanderburgh School Superintendent, awarded the following Koch Foundation Scholarships awards:
Anastasia Marie Bittner, daughter of Steven Bittner employed at George Koch Sons is this year’s recipient of the Robert L. Koch Scholarship. Anastasia is a student at Wood Memorial High School. She plans to attend Marian University in Indianapolis to study pastoral ministry.
Mary Rachel Hobgood, daughter of Greg Hobgood employed at Gibbs Die Casting, is this year’s recipient of the Louis J. Koch Scholarship. Mary is a student at Webster County High School in Dixon, Kentucky. She plans to attend Feed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN to study biochemistry and would eventually like to pursue her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
Matthew Scott Wilkinson, son of Keith Wilkinson employed at Brake Supply, is this year’s winner of the Mary L. Koch Scholarship. Matthew is a student at North High School. He plans to attend University of Evansville where he will pursue a degree in political science and he has signed a letter of intent to play baseball.
The parents of the winners have been notified and their award letters are in the mail. Also letters have been sent to all other applicants thanking them for their participation and informing them of the decisions.
This year the Foundation received 18 applications from children who had a parent working at the following subsidiaries: 5 from Gibbs, 4 from Brake Supply, 3 from Koch Air, 3 from GKS, Uniseal 1, Audubon 1 and SWC 1.
Each Scholarship Award is for a total of $10,000 paid over four years of school.
